Meet Professor Cassio Barbosa – Founder & Head Instructor

Professor Cassio Barbosa is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over a decade of experience in both training and community building. Born and raised in a tough neighborhood in Brazil, Jiu-Jitsu gave him direction, discipline, and a deeper purpose in life. After training and teaching in renowned academies across the U.S., including Atos HQ, Cassio created Grounded BJJ to offer a space where individuals can not only learn martial arts but also develop character, integrity, and discipline. As a father and mentor, Cassio brings his heart and soul into every class, teaching with patience, clarity, and a focus on individual growth.
